UNDER THE SUIT: The Bodies of the US Ski Team

Athletes on the US Ski Team who are below the A-Team level must pay for their travel and training expenses. This can range from $15,000 to $35,000 dollars per year. My teammates and I created "Under the Suit: The Bodies of the Ski Team" 2017 calendar to share our story and raise money. We wanted to come up with a creative way to fundraise, create awareness, and showcase our unique bodies and personalities. It has been a lot of work on part of all the athletes. And yes, that's me on the cover.

Every purchase is tax-deductible through World Cup Dreams organization, a 501 C3 Non-Profit organization, and every calendar has the full season's World Cup schedule! Your support goes directly towards covering unfunded ski team athletes' costs. What an awesome cause to donate to, and a great gift for any ski racing fan. Click here to buy one!

Born and raised in the great Pacific Northwest, I grew up skiing on Mount Hood.  Weekend trips to the mountain became a regular activity for our family.  My older brother and I loved it so much we had to join a program.  The local race team was cheaper than getting basic lessons and once started I never looked back.  Of course, I still played every other sport and was a tomboy who loved to get dirty.  At the end of the day, ski racing was what lit my fire and is still my true passion.

I have always had a need for speed, developed from chasing my brother all over the mountain.  When I began ski racing my focus was to get better every year, competing hard and striving to qualify for the next big race.  Currently, I am coming off my best race season ever.  Last year I was able to accomplish many of my goals.  This summer my focus was strength and flexibility training in the gym and speed training in Chile and New Zealand  with the US Alpine ski team. I learned a lot during the 2015 and 2016 tours and I feel I am better prepared both mentally and physically for this season.

My goal in 2017 is to top last year's results. I want to ski better, go further and continue to push the limits and my potential.  I know it's possible if I give it my all and keep working hard.  I am excited, nervous, anxious, as I work through the 2016/2017 season.  I approach it with confidence because of my training, my teammates, my coaches, and most of all, my community of support.

That's where you come in. Ski racing is expensive - mostly for the travel.  A season expenses will exceed $25,000.  That means I am always looking for help to defray my costs. What you donate will help pay for food, travel, lodging, training, equipment, and much more.
